Family and Relationships

Families sometimes get into difficulties due to their differences. The aim of therapy is to work on issues presented within the family, by encouraging each family member to help understand, appreciate and empathise with each other.

Family therapy sessions can teach you skills to build and better understand family relationships and work through stressful times as a family unit. These tools can help you through life even after sessions have ended.

Family therapy supports individuals to communicate effectively within a family setting. Individuals can find family therapy helpful, and offer an opportunity to reflect on important relationships and look at various ways to build these relationships.

The therapy is often short term where family members have an opportunity to express and explore difficult thoughts and emotions in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space.

This can help to understand each other’s experiences and views, appreciate each other’s needs, build on strengths and make useful changes in your relationships further enhancing on your lives.

It may include all family members or just those able or willing to participate, this will depend on your family’s situation.

We are sensitive to diverse family relationships, beliefs and cultures.
